Why choose The Blitz?

A great party includes an attentive DJ with taste and skills, but that’s only one part of the equation. We’re not the center of the party. We’re part of it.

Mobile DJs have long been considered the goobers of the craft. They wear bad suits, advertise themselves on the microphone, and think Will Smith is the best rapper. In the mobile DJ market it’s considered edgy to say that you’re “not cheesy”, and that you “don’t play the macarena.” This should be the starting point, not what sets your DJ apart.

Actual DJing

We mix tracks club style, beat matching and trimming off the fat so that it’s constantly verse-chorus-verse-chorus. We can cover twice the music of the typical mobile DJ and we read the dance floor. “Who just left the floor after that last song? Who came? What do I play to get the millennials back after a block of 70’s funk for the parents?” It’s a battle and and it’s different for every dance floor.

Track Selection

We get to know you and discuss your vision for the event. As music lovers we dig deeper into the bag than top 40. Sometimes you get to drop a Paul Simon edit and sometimes it’s Beyonce or bust. We pepper our sets with edits, remixes, and a few mashups, just enough to keep it interesting, not so much that you don’t recognize anything. 

The DJ from the ‘burbs’ will play the same 50 tracks everyone plays and doesn’t care about the concept of reading a dance floor. “If they don’t dance to The Wobble and Hey Ya! then there’s nothing I can do!” There is plenty we can do and you deserve so much more.

Lighting

This is often an undervalued part of dance floor energy. You shouldn’t just bathe the dance floor with bright lights, flashing randomly. Good dance floor lighting combines several different elements to create movement on the floor while keeping the overall light low.

Emcee

We work closely with coordinators and planners to engage your guests and get their attention when needed throughout the event. We have a “less is more” approach to microphone work…tasteful, minimal, and confident. When you’re shopping for your DJ, ask them if they ever advertise themselves on the mic. If they say “yes", run.

Customer Service

Years of experience means we know all the questions to ask and how to prepare for anything. You may not even be aware of all the details involved in your day, which is why we take the time to make sure everything goes perfectly. Whether it's prepping the toasters before their speeches, when to fade out the song on your first dance…many DJs wing it. We nail it.

Jordan

A fixture in the Atlanta music scene since 2003 under the moniker Snowden, Jordan’s music brought him many opportunities, from touring North America and Europe opening for Kings of Leon, to spinning at smokey clubs in Atlanta. Through years of trial and error he learned how to read a dance floor, and know when it’s time to play Lizzo and when it’s time for Daft Punk. He brings a music lovers touch and a decade of nightlife experience to give your event exactly what it needs.

Tom

Despite having an, admittedly, buttoned-up career as an accountant, Tom has also spent the better part of 25 years in Atlanta as a drummer playing for punk, hardcore, and indie bands, as well as an in-demand studio musician. Tom helped build one of the first dance weeklies on Edgewood at Noni’s. Over the years he’s DJ’d at other Atlanta nightlife staples such as The Music Room and Mary’s.

Tara

Hailing from Knoxville, TN, Tara Davies started her dj career by creating a dance party for her friends at a local hang out. Since moving to Atlanta she's held residencies at Graveyard Tavern, Highland Inn Lounge, Star Bar, Ammazza and played private parties for celebrities. She can currently be found every Saturday at MJQ for HeartBeeps and first Friday's at The W Downtown.

Jason

We pride ourselves on having a team of veteran club DJs and Jason is no exception to the rule. Jason has held residencies at some of Atlanta’s most notable weeklies, including Noni’s weekend dance parties and Star Bar’s historic Tuesday night. Jason brings incredible energy to every dance floor with his creative mixing and genre hopping style. You pick your desired vibe and Jason is ready to rock it.

destin

Destin is the busiest DJ in our group. Between his own events in East Atlanta and traveling abroad, he plays 6-8 nights a month in the Goth/Industrial, New Wave, and underground club scenes. With an active and diverse calendar, his skills and tastes stay fresh. Whether it’s mixing flawlessly from Diana Ross to Diplo, or Duo Lipa to Depeche Mode … Destin makes curating a dance floor vibe look effortless. During the week he can be found lighting the film sets of your favorite television shows and feature films.

DJ/MC

Our roster of DJ's and MC's is by far the best in the business. Our DJ's are residents at some of the best clubs in the city and have won multiple Best Of Atlanta awards in Creative Loafing. You're not getting someone that looks and sounds like your high school civics teacher.

Lighting

Our state of the art wireless up lighting turns a venue into ‘your’ venue. Pick one color for the evening or change the color after the dance floor opens.  If you want something that we don't have in our inventory, we can get it.

A/V Production

Flat-panel TVs, projectors, and screens…from splitting the big game over multiple screens to creating a photo collage for your cocktail hour.

How much are you? 

Pricing for events depends on the date of the event and the hours and activities involved. We’re moderately priced while offering the quality and style that some companies charge double our rates for. We also skip the used car salesman stuff and offer simple packages instead of multiple confusing options.
